The Private Clinic Group is offering an exciting Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship for an ambitious and highly motivated surgeon seeking advanced training in aesthetic surgery.

Working closely with Professor Hindocha, this fellowship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a broad range of cosmetic procedures in a dynamic private practice environment. The post is designed to accelerate the development of advanced operative skills, clinical judgement, and professional expertise in aesthetic surgery while contributing to outstanding patient care.

This is an ideal opportunity for surgeons looking to refine their skills and build a strong foundation for a future career in cosmetic or plastic surgery practice.

What You’ll Be Doing

Clinical Experience

You will play an active role in patient care throughout the aesthetic surgery journey, including:

  • Participating in cosmetic outpatient clinics
  • Assessing patients and determining suitability for procedures
  • Supporting patient counselling and informed consent
  • Managing peri-operative and post-operative care
  • Recognising and managing complications appropriately
  • Maintaining high-quality clinical documentation

Operative Training

This fellowship offers structured operative exposure with progressive responsibility.

You will assist and gradually perform procedures under consultant supervision, including:

Facial Aesthetic Surgery

  • Blepharoplasty
  • Facelift procedures
  • Rhinoplasty

Breast Surgery

  • Breast augmentation
  • Breast reduction
  • Mastopexy

Body Contouring

  • Abdominoplasty
  • Liposuction

Non-Surgical Aesthetics

  • Injectable treatments
  • Laser-based therapies

As your skills develop, you will gain increasing operative autonomy in a supportive training environment.

Professional Development

You will also contribute to the wider development of the service through:

  • Participation in clinical governance and audit activities
  • Engagement in morbidity and mortality reviews
  • Supporting service improvement initiatives
  • Maintaining professional standards aligned with General Medical Council and Care Quality Commission guidance.

Teaching and Research

Fellows are encouraged to contribute to the academic and educational environment by:

  • Teaching junior clinicians and allied professionals
  • Undertaking audit, research, or quality improvement projects
  • Supporting publications or conference presentations where appropriate

Who We’re Looking For

Essential Qualifications

  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council with licence to practise and right to work in the UK
  • Completion of higher surgical training (ST7+ or equivalent)
  • FRCS(Plast) or equivalent qualification (e.g. MCh / PhD / EBOPRAS)

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Surgical experience with a strong interest in cosmetic or aesthetic surgery
  • Previous exposure to cosmetic or plastic surgical procedures
  • Strong anatomical knowledge relevant to aesthetic surgery
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage patient expectations
  • Sound understanding of consent and ethical practice in cosmetic surgery
  • Strong organisational and clinical decision-making skills

Desirable Experience

  • Previous posts in plastic surgery, dermatology, or cosmetic surgery
  • Exposure to private practice environments
  • Experience with non-surgical aesthetic treatments
  • Evidence of research, audit, or quality improvement
  • Publications or conference presentations
  • Teaching experience
