Job overview
As a Digital & Data Senior Network Officer at Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust (TEWV) you will play a pivotal role in delivering and managing a modern, resilient and secure digital network across 100 Trust sites and partner networks. In addition, you will be responsible for delivering and managing the Trusts network infrastructure in conjunction with the network manager.
The Trust utilise modern Cisco technologies which have recently undergone major investment and a complete overhaul of all Switching, routing and wireless infrastructure utilising Cisco DNAC at the heart of the network.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, well organised solutions engineer who lives our values of respect, compassion and responsibility to assist with the implementation of our Digital and Data Journey to Change (see attachment).
This is a unique opportunity to work within a Cisco SDA network and enhance you existing skillset.
Main duties of the job
Provides proactive system support to maintain and develop a comprehensive network and telecommunications systems infrastructure and associated devices within the Trust. This includes monitoring and maintaining the Trust IT Network infrastructure, its environment and associated systems.
Carry out monitoring of the Network, Telecommunications and Network Security devices and environments to ensure the integrity of the environments and to maximise performance for end users.
Ensures that effective Incident and problem management processes are followed and are actively manages calls in accordance with SLA’s, utilising escalation processes both internal and external when required.
Follows the change control process for all changes to the Network, Telecommunications and Network Security estate, that incorporate standard, normal and emergency changes, including supplier led changes and system upgrades.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Educated to Degree standard or equivalent in a relevant subject or with equivalent experiential learning in the field of Network, Telecommunications and Network Security technical Design and Support
- Achieve a relevant Networking/Cisco certification within an agreed timescale
Desirable criteria
- Cisco Qualification
- Network Security Qualification
- ITIL Qualification – Foundation Level
Experience
Essential criteria
- Recent hands on, IT technical experience of industry standard technologies and working with enterprise size technology solutions.
- Experience of working in a customer led service.
- Experience of working with third party suppliers
- Experience of administration and configuration of network and communications devices within Infrastructures that provide high levels of system availability, integrity and security
- Recent experience in producing a range of documentation and reports i.e. Technical Documents, Standard Operating Procedures and Key Decision Documents.
Desirable criteria
- Work experience in an NHS environment
- Experience of Project management and leading on work packages
