Job overview

To effectively manage the administration function of all areas of responsibility in relation to the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) and Parkinson’s Disease Nurse.

To provide confidential secretarial/administrative support to the identified teams.

To be flexible to provide support to the wider work of the Directorate/Organisation as required.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

  • To accurately and appropriately accept and record referrals and sensitive, complex, confidential clinical information as a first point of contact, from partner agencies (e.g. GP’s, Social Services, Accident and Emergency Department, District Nurses etc) for the CIT and Parkinson’s Disease Nurse and relay to members of team appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Possess an empathetic telephone manner and be competent to respond in a timely and appropriate way should a clinical emergency situation become apparent (e.g. ensure clinical team members are made aware of crisis immediately).
  • Ensure all patient related data/information is handled in an appropriate manner taking due regard of the need for maintaining confidentiality.
  • To maintain accurate databases of teams activities (to include referrals, care packages, users/carers views, discharges and other information as directed).
