Job overview

We are recruiting for a Receptionist to join our team at Patchway Locality Hub, each working 24 hours per week.

The working pattern is:

  • Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday : 8:30am – 5:00pm 

The service is based at Patchway Locality Hub and provides a range of specialist children’s services across BNSSG, including Community Paediatrics, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, and Physiotherapy. We support children and young people aged 0–18 years and their families.

We provide a child-centred and holistic service, working closely with colleagues across health, social care, and education to ensure children and families receive coordinated and effective support tailored to their individual needs.

Main duties of the job

As a Receptionist , you will be the first point of contact for service users, parents, carers, professionals, and visitors to the Patchway Hub. You will play an important role in providing a welcoming, professional, and efficient front-of-house and administrative service.

The service supports children and young people aged 0–18 years and includes Community Paediatrics, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy, Health Visiting, and School Health Nursing services. The role will also involve acting as a first point of contact for Social Care teams based within the hubs.

Person specification

Experience, Skills, Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working in a busy office environment, preferably in a customer facing or receptionist role
  • Experience of using a wide range of office equipment (i.e. computers, photocopiers)
  • Experience of using a variety of IT systems including Microsoft Office
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience of diary management and organising meetings/clinics/events

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
  • Relevant knowledge and experience or NVQ Level 2 in business administration
