The salary scale for a Band 3 has been adjusted as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2026/2027 and will be implemented in August 2026 backdated to 01 April 2026 where applicable.

 

Job overview

The successful candidate will provide a professional and comprehensive administrative and secretarial service to the Community CAMHS Clinical Team.

We are looking for a dynamic individual with excellent communication, organisational and administrative skills who is able to demonstrate the ability to work as a Team player and also to work independently.   The post holder will possess excellent customer service skills and be able to deal with queries in a sensitive and empathetic manner due to the nature of the service. 

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will play an important role within the service to provide efficient administration support and be expected to deliver a comprehensive Administration service to support service delivery.

By the nature of the duties, the post holder is required to maintain strict confidentiality and will be expected to deal with patients, relatives and visitors with courtesy and discretion at all times.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Good General Standard of Education (e.g. GSCE Maths and English A-C and above or equivalent.
  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent knowledge and experience. Required to undertake this qualification.
Desirable criteria
  • Understanding of basic Medical Terminology

EXPERIENCE

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working in an acute hospital/GP practice or Call Centre/Customer Focussed environment
  • Experience dealing with the general public
Desirable criteria
  • Previous Waiting List Management experience

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Excellent communication skills both written, verbal & telephone
  • Ability to react to unpredictable issues, re-prioritising own workload if necessary
Desirable criteria
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft office
