We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, passionate and knowledgeable safeguarding practitioner to join our Safeguarding Adult team and be part of the Integrated Safeguarding Team.

 

You will  contribute to the development of strategy and associated framework that moves Sirona from viewing safeguarding as a binary issue to one where the staff Think Family.  This will include being a central point of information / support related to Health Equity and Inclusion services and Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) work streams across the organisation.

Main duties of the job

  • You will assist the safeguarding team to develop a framework for integrated safeguarding practice paying particular attention to EDI workstreams and staff learning, development, support and supervision
  • Working as part of the Safeguarding Adult Team, the post holder will focus on the safeguarding requirements of Health equity and Inclusion services.  The role will include providing targeted safeguarding supervision, advice and support.
  • You will also work closely with the Safeguarding Team in the review and updating of the Safeguarding Training Strategy and associated policies and processes to advance this work as appropriate.  
  • You will work as part of the safeguarding adult team and assist with delegated duties from the safeguarding adult lead/Head of safeguarding. This will include covering the Safeguarding Adult duty role and Think Family training

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • RSCN / RGN / SHN / RNLD / RMN/ Registered Health Care Professional
  • Educated to degree level
  • Teaching or Training Qualification e.g. ENB 998 /997, City & Guilds / experience of developing / delivering training packages to professional groups
  • Evidence of continuing professional development related to safeguarding through attendance at short courses
Desirable criteria
  • Supervision Qualification
  • Post graduate qualification in safeguarding / working towards Masters degree in relevant field.

Experience and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Experience working with children and families where child and adult safeguarding has been a significant feature
  • Experience of scoping/developing and implementing training/learning packages/devices for a wide variety of audiences
  • Recent experience of child and adult safeguarding practice (Multi-agency, Multi-disciplinary meetings, report writing)
  • Awareness and Understanding of Think Family approach to safeguarding practice
  • Up to date knowledge and understanding of best practice and legislation in relation to Safeguarding: Human Rights Act (1998), Children Act (1989, 2004), Care Act (2014), Mental Capacity Act (2005) / DoLS ( LPS when implemented)
  • Ability to critically analyse highly complex and emotionally charged information
  • Working knowledge of issues relating to information sharing
