Job overview

The Children’s Speech and Language Therapy Team is excited to advertise for a Band 6 Fixed Term position to cover maternity leave within our  Commissioned School Aged service in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

We have sessions available primarily within the commissioned South Gloucestershire Cluster Project along with other sessions available in schools across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

We are a friendly and supportive team that deliver a variety of clinical Speech and Language Therapy Services across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. Our commissioned service is designed to complement our core NHS offer to schools.

Please do get in touch to find out more about the South Glos Cluster Project along with other commissioned service roles we have available.

Main duties of the job

You will work as part of the commissioned services team, working across a number of primary and secondary schools, offering an enhanced Speech and Language Therapy provision that is above the core NHS offer.

You will support the students and staff through universal, targeted and specialist services, for those children whose needs sit outside the core NHS service. The post holder should have interest and experience in supporting children/YP in both primary and secondary schools.

We offer regular training and CPD opportunities to our staff, a buddy system for new starters, regular line management and a regular meeting structure. A large and supportive team means that there is plenty of opportunity for development and progression internally.
