Job overview
The Breast Screening Service at Luton is part of the NHS Breast Screening Programme inviting women aged over 50 for routine breast screening that are living in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.
We require a Band 3 Clerical Administrator who will be involved in a very busy, efficient and friendly office.
The key responsibilities of the varied role include the preparing of clinic paperwork, updating information onto the NHS Breast Screening computer system and the Hospital IPM and CRIS systems.
It is essential to have excellent communication, telephone and audio typing skills as the making and rebooking of appointments is required together with reception duties.
Main duties of the job
To work as part of the office team, participating in all aspects of office work, in order to provide efficient and effective services as part of the multi-disciplinary team. To deal sensitively with the general public, liaise with other screening offices, hospital departments and GP surgeries.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- To ensure that all office duties are performed in order to maintain good working systems and in accordance with NHSBP Guidelines and Standards and QMS protocols.
- Operate the Breast Screening Service computer System in order to verify registration, clinical details and update as appropriate. Update all episodes with screening results in accordance with NHSBSP guidelines
- Change and make appointments in response to telephone enquiries.
- Reception duties to support screening and symptomatic breast clinics.
