The NI Ambulance Service is now recruiting for an ICH Clinical Service & Triage Improvement Lead to join their team.

 

Band: 8A

Reports to: Consultant Paramedic

Accountable to: Chief Paramedic Officer

 

Job Summary

 

In this role you will be part of the Clinical Directorate supporting the delivery of the NIAS Clinical Development Programme, which will include a range of Clinical developments across a range of clinical areas within the ICH and wider clinical teams.

 

You will represent the Trust internally and externally at related forums taking a lead on modernisation, relating to clinical patient care and developing scope of practice within NIAS. You will also provide direct clinical support and performance improvement expertise and will work will the relevant staff to develop protocols, guidelines and training, as required, to implement new ways of working.

 

This role, as part of the NIAS Clinical Directorate, is a senior clinical role helping to shape the future of Paramedicine and Ambulance Service care in NI.

Essential Criteria

1.    Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) Registered Paramedic with a minimum of 6 years’ post-registration experience as a Paramedic, including a minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience of contributing to improving practice and implementing change within an Ambulance Service environment OR Registered Nurse or Registered Allied Health Professional (with current professional registration) who has worked for at least 6 years in an unscheduled care setting, with a minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience contributing to improving practice and implementing change within an unscheduled care environment.

2.    Maintaining professional registration is a condition of the post.

3.    Able to demonstrate knowledge of best practice in Ambulance Service delivery and current modernisation initiatives

4.    Experience of collating and analysing data and presenting it in a meaningful way.

5.    Excellent oral and written communication skills including experience in conducting presentations and the ability to write reports and project documentation.
6.    Experience of working with a healthcare team and using leadership skills to successfully bring about organisational change.

7.    Excellent communication and influencing skills underpinned by experience of securing cooperation and agreement of others on an individual and group basis.

8.    Demonstrate evidence of assessing risk and problem-solving whilst delivering objectives

9.    Relevant Degree or equivalent

10.     Hold a current full driving license which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car or a form of transport approved by the Trust which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post on appointment. This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by the Trust which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post

11.     Experience and knowledge of change + conflict management in an NHS environment

12.    Experience and developed skills in dealing with change management and related challenges

13.    Good knowledge re current Paramedic best clinical and professional practice

14.    Good knowledge of ambulance specific clinical
