Person specification

Training and Clinical Experience

Essential criteria
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in psychiatry or paediatrics (or equivalent period of part time experience).
Desirable criteria
  • Experience or special interest in Child and Adolescent/ Psychiatry and/or neurodevelopmental disorders. Experience of working with multi-disciplinary team.

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of the principles and models involved in management and treatment of Psychiatric disorders
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge and experience of research methodologies.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Medical Practitioner with General Medical Council.
Desirable criteria
  • Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent qualification (in accordance with Royal College of Psychiatrists Guidelines).
  • Section 12 and AC approval.

Competencies

Essential criteria
  • Good communication skills. Good organisational skills. Research skills. Mobile working / commuting across sites, as required.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of supervising and teaching colleagues in other disciplines. Understanding of audit and other aspects of Clinical Governance.
