Band 3 Assistant Patient Pathway Coordinator (Audiology)
 
This is a Part Time post for 22.5 hours per week.
 
The Assistant Patient Pathway Coordinator provides administrative support to the Audiology service, ensuring patients are managed efficiently throughout their care pathway from referral to discharge.
 
The role involves coordinating appointments, maintaining accurate patient records, supporting waiting list management and acting as a key point of contact for patients, clinicians and external organisations.
 
The post holder contributes to delivering a high-quality patient experience while supporting the service to meet operational and performance targets.
 
Main Responsibilities:
 
  • Manage patient appointments and clinic bookings.
  • Coordinate patient pathways, support waiting list management.
  • Maintain accurate records on EPR and other Trust systems.
  • Manage clinic changes, cancellations  and diary schedules.
  • Ensure patient records are handled in line with Information Governance requirements.
  • Contribute to service improvements and provide cross cover within the administration team.
The role contributes directly to meeting operational targets and delivering positive patient experience.

Manage Patient Appointments and Pathways:

  • Process referrals and ensure patients are booked into the appropriate clinics.
  • Schedule new and follow-up appointments.
  • Identify potential delays or pathway breaches and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate pathway information on Trust systems
  • Manage clinic cancellations and re-book patients within required timescales.
  • Ensure patients progress smoothly from referral through to discharge.
  • Ensure patient information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Track and manage health records in compliance with Information Governance requirements.
  • Attend service development meetings.
The post is a patient-focused administrative point of contact for patients, clinicians and other healthcare organisations, ensuring that patients move smoothly through their care pathway.
 
You will be responsible for coordinating appointments, managing waiting lists and patient tracking, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the delivery of a high-quality patient experience.
