Are you a seasoned Change Management specialist ready to make a direct impact on patient care?
Join our Digital Data & Technology (DDaT) team as the Digital Change Lead. This pivotal role drives the smooth adoption and stability of digital services across our Trust and the wider health system.
You will be responsible for:

Leading change: Owning the development, implementation, and delivery of ITIL Change processes to govern all digital system updates and improvements.

Ensuring compliance: Maintaining rigorous adherence to ISO 20000 (2018) Standards, safeguarding our critical DDaT services and patient data.

Adding value: Partnering with external suppliers and project teams to ensure new digital services (EPR, telehealth, etc.) are stable, scalable, and meet service standards.

Operating autonomously: Working as a specialist technical resource on projects, requiring minimal supervision to deliver critical tasks.
This role is ideal for a proactive expert who thrives on ensuring operational excellence while delivering better digital experiences for staff and patients.
Main duties of the job
💻 Main Duties and Responsibilities
The Digital Change Lead is the owner of the Change Management lifecycle for all live Digital Data & Technology (DDaT) services.
1. Change Governance and Leadership

Own, implement, and enforce the ITIL-based Change Management process across all DDaT services to minimize disruption and maximize beneficial change.

Chair and coordinate the Change Advisory Board (CAB), ensuring all changes undergo rigorous Risk Assessments, Impact Assessments, and Test plan reviews.

Act as the expert advisor on Digital Change Management, communicating complex, multi-stranded technical issues and proposed policy changes to managers and stakeholders across the Trust.
2. Service Delivery and Technical Expertise

Lead and deliver technical projects related to infrastructure upgrades, system decommissions, and the introduction of new services to end-users.

Serve as the point of technical escalation for DDaT staff, providing leadership and aid in the investigation and diagnosis of complex IT issues and problems (e.g., via root cause analysis).

Aide strategic planning for digital assets to ensure they remain fit for purpose and in support of the Trust’s goals.

Essential criteria
- Expert knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) principles, specifically the ITIL Change Management process, demonstrated by experience in coordinating and chairing a Change Advisory Board (CAB)
- Proven ability to communicate highly complex or multi-stranded technical information effectively to a diverse audience, including non-Digital managers, to facilitate understanding and secure cooperation.
Desirable criteria
- Experience in coordinating root cause analysis (RCA) or proactive trend analysis to investigate IT-related problems and review process failures, thereby minimizing future service interruptions.
- Demonstrated experience in evaluating new and emerging technologies and proposing changes to organizational policies and procedures that impact teams beyond the immediate DDaT function.
Further Criteria
Essential criteria
- Demonstrable technical proficiency and experience in system administration (or equivalent specialist technical area) with the ability to maintain and manage at least one critical information system.
- Experience in defining and adhering to governance models for Change Management, including the creation and maintenance of essential reports (e.g., project highlight, exception, or ITSM reports).
Desirable criteria
- Experience training, updating, and motivating colleagues on new technical solutions and aiding in developing team capabilities through the provision of effective system documentation.
- Prior experience liaising with and managing technical support agencies and external suppliers (hardware and software) to implement recommended solutions and ensure service delivery aligns with organisational standards.
