Band 5 Interventional Radiology Nurse
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team for a 12 month fixed term.
As part of the role you will be required to work in recovery and our ultrasound room.
Main duties of the job
You will need to be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and strive for opportunities for improvement. You will positively affect the experience of patients and carers by providing a high standard of clinical care; we are also looking for an organised individual with excellent communication skills and a positive approach to change.
The successful candidate will demonstrate high standards of practice with excellent communication, clinical and decision making skills and you will be fully supported to advance your knowledge and develop your clinical competencies in the following areas:
- Post procedure recovery care
- Ultrasound

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Assesses the needs of patients/families and carers; plans, delivers and evaluates high standards of evidenced based nursing care. Demonstrates concise, accurate, timely record keeping, including both written and electronic records. Displays excellent analytical ability and sound decision making in changing clinical situations.
Practices in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council’s Code: Professional standards of practice and behaviour for nurses and midwives and Trust policies, protocols and guidelines. Is accountable for own practice and for appropriate delegation of care he/she gives to colleagues, nursing support workers and students.
Recognises deterioration in the physical or mental condition of the patient and takes timely action, appropriately referring to others or working with other agencies as required.
Recognises, responds to and appropriately manages emergency situations .
