Job overview
We are looking for a highly motivated FY3 doctor to join our Adelaide Ward (Oncology) team. This is full-time post (40 hrs) on a 6-month fixed-term contract basis.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will contribute to the safe running of the ward, working alongside a multidisciplinary team to provide the highest quality care to patients.

The hospital achieved Foundation Trust status on 1st June 2006 and was the first Foundation Trust in the South Central Strategic Health Authority. The Trust is Reading's biggest employer and may form the central hospital for one of the country's new medical schools.
The aim of the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust's Oncology Service is to become a leader in the field of Oncology management and the successful applicant must therefore have the pre-requisite procedural and leadership skills as well as teamwork, drive and ambition to succeed in achieving these goals.

- Further qualifications (BSc/MRCP or equivalent etc. /courses)
Clinical Knowledge, Experience & Skills
Essential criteria
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with colleagues, patients, relatives, nurses, other staff and agencies. Ability to prioritise clinical need
- Aware of own limitations, and when to escalate for senior review. Understands principles of patient confidentiality, consent and data protection
- Able to communicate clearly in written and spoken English e.g. able to write legible records
- Able to contribute to teaching and learning of others in the clinical setting, to discuss treatment options with patients in a way they can understand
Desirable criteria
- Clinical experience and training in Clinical Oncology
