Job overview

Band 5 Senior Pharmacy Technician - Homecare Services

Are you a motivated and enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician looking to take the next step in your career? Join our friendly and dedicated Pharmacy Homecare Team at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, where you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-focused care.

While previous homecare experience is an advantage, it’s not essential — we’ll provide full training and support to help you excel. What matters most is a solid foundation of technical skills, great attention to detail, and a passion for delivering an outstanding service.

In this role, you’ll work closely with the Pharmacy Homecare Manager to support the smooth running and ongoing development of our homecare services. Strong communication skills, a proactive approach, and confidence in problem-solving will help you thrive.

We also welcome applications from Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians nearing completion of their training.

If you’re ready to grow your career in a supportive and collaborative environment, we’d love to hear from you!

Main duties of the job

Working with a wide variety of stakeholders, this post requires the processing and flow of information which is essential for the timely, safe and efficient provision of patient focused Homecare Medicines Services.

The department provides homecare activity across the Trust processing prescriptions and invoices relating to outsourced homecare services that deliver medication directly to the patient's home.

The ideal candidate must have experience working in an office-based environment and have good communication and organisational skills. You must be flexible and able to work well in an environment of change, be computer literate and have attention to detail.

You will contribute to the daily duties of the Pharmacy Homecare Team with the autonomy to manage workflow and own responsibilities.

Working for our organisation

We are one of the largest general hospital foundation trusts in the country - serving a population of more than 500,000 people - and the main provider of acute and specialist care services for West Berkshire.
