Band 6 Experienced Physiotherapist in Acute Medical Unit & HMU
**Fixed-term/secondment opportunity for 12 months.**
We are pleased to offer this exciting opportunity to come and join our team at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading. We are a GOOD accredited hospital following CQC inspection and are looking to employ a forward-thinking, dynamic individual as a Band 6 Physiotherapist across our Acute Medical Unit and Higher Monitoring Unit.
The post is suitable for an experienced physiotherapist with past AMU and HMU experience. The post operates across AMU and HMU, which works with individuals with a variety of complex needs.
You will work within the wider Respiratory Physiotherapy team with experienced senior staff and be responsible for a clinical caseload as well as for supervising and developing junior staff and students. You will work closely with the MDT and community teams and contribute to seven day working.
The successful applicant will have NHS experience within AMU and HMU and possess excellent assessment, clinical reasoning, treatment and teaching skills. You will have sound IT skills and demonstrate the Trust’s values of Compassion, Aspiration, Resourcefulness and Excellence.
Regular appraisal, supervision and support will be given and there is a requirement to actively participate in CPD and audit. You will work alongside senior colleagues to implement new initiatives to continue to develop the service in line with best practice and clinical guidelines.
Main duties of the job
- To be an experienced Physiotherapist delivering patient-centered, caring therapy for Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust Hospital (RBFT).
- To be professionally responsible for all aspects of your own work including the therapeutic management of patients in your care, with support from your supervisor.
- To use your physiotherapy knowledge and skills to provide specialist support and advice to the multidisciplinary team and to manage own caseload of patients as an autonomous practitioner.
- To deliver a high quality, effective and efficient physiotherapy service in the Therapy team.
- To be a member of the Therapy Department team, contributing to service development in Therapies and the Trust.
