Band 6 Experienced Physiotherapist - Trauma & Orthopaedics

**This is a fixed-term/secondment opportunity for 12 months**

We are excited to welcome an experienced and enthusiastic physiotherapist to undertake a secondment into our Orthopaedic Physiotherapy team.

The successful applicant will work onsite at the Royal Berkshire Hospital covering both elective and trauma orthopaedics, as well as day surgery.

We operate Monday-Friday 8:00-16:00, with an evening service that is rostered within the team. There is also a weekend orthopaedic service you will be expected to contribute to.

Main duties of the job

  • To be an experienced Physiotherapist delivering patient centered, caring therapy for Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust Hospital (RBFT).

  • To be professionally responsible for all aspects of your own work, including the therapeutic management of patients in your care, with support from your supervisor.

  • To use your physiotherapy knowledge and skills to provide specialist support and advice to the multi-disciplinary team and to manage own caseload of patients as an autonomous practitioner.

  • To deliver a high quality, effective and efficient physiotherapy service in the Therapy team.

  • To be a member of the Therapy Department team, contributing to service development in Therapies and the Trust.

  • NHS experience across all core clinical areas
  • Experience of working within Orthopaedics
  • Understanding of current evidence base
  • Experience of supervising and developing other staff and students
  • Experience of teaching and presenting to other staff
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in Orthopaedics for 1 year

Education

Essential criteria
  • HCPC Registered
  • Degree or other recognised qualification in Physiotherapy

  • Additional Courses in relevant field
