We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Consultant Stroke Physician to join our dynamic team. The post involves working on the Acute Stroke Unit and supporting hyperacute stroke service and stroke/TIA clinics in the University Department of Stroke Medicine at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading. This a replacement post, in order to support our current service, and enhance the TIA service model.

Although the advert and job description is for a post managing patients on Acute Stroke Unit, we would welcome applicants who are interested in a more varied job plan. Many of our consultants work across geriatric medicine, acute general medicine and neurology. We would welcome consultants interested in supporting our neurology service, or those wishing to work with geriatric medicine/acute internal medicine service. Since receiving the University Department Accreditation in 2021, the stroke service is looking to appoint a research lead to expand the research portfolio, with dedicated time to support the role.

As a forward thinking and adaptable department, we would welcome applications from candidates wishing to work less than full time.
