Main duties of the job
The post will be based mainly with the General surgery team on the General Surgical Unit, with a requirement to cross cover Urology and ENT out of hours. Candidates must be willing to work with the teams to provide high quality care for General surgery, Urology and ENT patients. Senior cover is available to support all colleagues.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Full GMC Registration
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
Desirable criteria
- MRCS (UK) full or part or equivalent by time of appointment
Experience
Essential criteria
- Evidence of experience in a range of acute specialties, with experience of managing patients on surgical take during foundation or core surgical training or equivalent
Knowledge and Skills
Essential criteria
- Appropriate knowledge base and ability to apply sound clinical judgement to problems
- Evidence of competence in management of surgical emergencies and in-patients
Desirable criteria
- Demonstrates ability in managing common acute emergencies
- Evidence of skills in the management of acute surgical emergencies

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
