Our team provides opportunities to participate in regular clinical, operational and supervisory meetings within the team and access/ participate in regular in-service training as well as CPD training opportunities. The Learning Disability Division is committed to supporting continuing professional development.

Our team supports flexible working and will consider full/part time or job shares to support suitable candidates.

Main duties of the job

You will have the opportunity to manage a mixed caseload of patients with a variety of health needs and further develop invaluable skills supporting junior staff working with people who have complex physical and learning disabilities, which will require a multi-disciplinary approach working alongside well-established professional teams including Psychiatry, Psychology, Nursing and other Therapies. You will be required to support junior staff working alongside other agencies delivering specialist services both within and outside of the Birmingham Community HealthCare trust. You will have the opportunity to be involved in physiotherapy service development and provision.

Person specification

Qualifications/Training

Essential criteria
  • Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy.
  • Member of the Health and Care professions Council
  • Evidence of Post Graduate Training relevant to Physiotherapy for complex physical disabilities and posture management

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Extensive Post Registration experience
  • Significant experience working with people with Learning Disabilities and/or older adults (or allied field) and specific interest in this area
  • Supervision of junior staff, assistants and/or students

Skills/knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Ability to demonstrate written skills that are relevant, accurate and concise
