The successful candidate will hold HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist and have doctoral-level training in Clinical, Counselling or Forensic Psychology accredited by the British Psychological Society.

Main duties of the job

You will provide highly specialist psychological assessment and intervention for children presenting with neurodevelopmental and complex mental health needs, using a wide range of evidence-based approaches and specialist assessment tools.

Working autonomously, you will formulate and implement treatment plans, undertake risk assessments, contribute to multidisciplinary care planning and provide expert consultation to professionals across health, education and partner agencies.

As a senior psychologist you will facilitate Multi Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings, where diagnostic decisions are reached in collaboration with clinical colleagues. You will be responsible for reviewing assessment information, formulating and then facilitating diagnostic discussions in line with NICE guidelines.

You will supervise practitioner psychologists, assistant psychologists, trainee psychologists and research staff, supporting professional development and the delivery of psychologically informed care throughout the service.

The role also includes leading service evaluation, audit and research activity, contributing to operational policy development and supporting the continuous improvement of neurodevelopmental services.
