At BSMHFT, we are always seeking to improve the way we provide interventions and develop new clinical skills and expertise.  We are looking to recruit  an experienced mental health OT who is motivated, enthusiastic, able to work to a high standard both autonomously  within our North and South Solihull CMHT teams. The successful post holderpost will  have  a keen interest  in recovery orientated approache, co-production and collaborative work with service users, families and carers.

You will work alongside an OT Team committed to offering recovery based care and excited about developing and enhancing your OT assessment and formulation skills. As a team member, you will support in triaging referrals,  offer OT assessments, support to referrers and  interventions within a clinic and home setting. The successful applicant will need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrate evidence  of post qualification study, and evidence of work with service users and colleagues in a way that reflects our Trust Values by providing committed and high quality care.

Our team of OT staff in CMHTs includes apprentices, Technical Instructors, OT and OT Line Manager.   OT staff enjoy good relationships with our multi-disciplinary teams and it is important to us that our OT's are flexible, energetic, have a positive attitude and demonstrate an ability to quality standards.

The utilisation of job plans, CPD and professional development opportunities are important for our CMHT teams and we have access to an online CPD forum and other recognised training and supervision.

Qualifications

  • Is registered with HCPC as an Occupational Therapist
  • Evidence of post graduate education above statutory and mandatory requirements, either leadership or clinical

  • Evidence of post graduate courses in areas of clinical expertise or leadership

Experience

  • Evidence of mental health experience in previous posts with an understanding of the needs of service users and issues affecting families and carers
  • Proficiency and experience in using outcome measures to assist in care planning and to monitor progress

  • Candidate is able to describe a detailed understanding of the needs and difficulties affecting service users with mental illness
  • Candidate is able to recognise the importance of personalised care when identifying and setting goals and supporting service user in planning interventions
  • Applicant has taken advantage of development opportunities including additional mentoring or supervision roles, leadership roles, participating in audit, course attendance
