Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust has an exciting opportunity to work within the HR Operational Team.

 

***This is a 14 month Fixed Term Contract working 22.5 hours per week***

As a key member of the HR team, you will provide support and assistance to managers seeking guidance on the management of employee relations cases. Additional to this, the post holder will have the opportunity to be involved in other aspects such as supporting Equality, Diversity & Inclusion initiatives, participating in recruitment and supporting employee health and wellbeing objectives.

Main duties of the job

This is a varied and dynamic role that will suit someone wishing to undertake a generalist role in a well-established and motivated team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing guidance and support to both employees and management in matters pertaining to HR policies, practices and procedures.

This position involves a dynamic blend of strategic thinking and problem solving as the postholder will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure a positive and productive work environment.

The successful candidate will have the ability to demonstrate good communication, excellent written and administrative skills and have the ability to build effective working relationships with the team and managers. The postholder will serve as a trusted member of staff, utilising their knowledge of employment law and best practice to contribute to the organisations overall success.

We positively support the opportunity to work flexibly with a hybrid approach of homeworking and office based. We are happy to be flexible with working hours and working pattern within the working week of Monday-Friday.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent
  • CIPD qualified (or currently working towards CIPD qualification)
Desirable criteria
  • Postgraduate degree or equivalent

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant operational Human Resources experience.
  • Experience of managing broad complex employee relations caseload
  • Developing and implementing employment policies
  • Strong in-depth knowledge and understanding employment legislation
  • Ability to analyse complex issues and provide practical and creative solutions
  • Availability to use Microsoft Office applications or equivalent
  • Demonstrable use of tact, diplomacy and understanding around sensitive issues
Desirable criteria
  • NHS HR experience
  • Understanding of Agenda for Change terms and conditions
