Main duties of the job
- To lead, develop and deliver the clinical pharmacy service to ensure all patients receive outstanding pharmaceutical care
- To supervise, motivate and support the team to ensure smooth and efficient flow of work.
- To work with the Pharmacy and wider multidisciplinary teams to deliver quality improvement projects to enhance patient care, efficiency and safety across a number of clinical areas.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing enquiries and concerns of patients, families, and healthcare staff with professionalism and empathy.
- Work in close coordination with pharmacists and healthcare professionals to ensure proper medication management for paediatric patients
- Utilise pharmacy software systems to process prescriptions and maintain accurate documentation

Essential criteria
- B/M.Pharm
- On the register of the GPhC
- Good spoken and written English, and numeracy.
Desirable criteria
- Post-graduate qualification
- Member of the Faculty of the RPS

Essential criteria
- Able to act as a role model for patient care
- Able to use my leadership skills to engage staff in my vision involving them, using great communication and recognising their contributions.
- Able to understand the complex clinical and social needs of patients and families and to meet those needs whenever possible
- Able to understand complex clinical situations and to discuss and make recommendations to resolve issues arising from them with medical, nursing and other staff
- Able to use a variety of computer software to organise and present information
- Able to work independently, prioritise, set goals and meet deadlines.
- Able to identify issues and use own initiative to address them.
- Able to maintain standards and accuracy whilst working under pressure.
Desirable criteria
- Previous pharmacy management experience.
- Previous experience of delivering clinical pharmacy services to neonatal/ paediatric patients and staff specialising in neonatology/ paediatrics
- Previous experience of delivering clinical pharmacy services to a Women’s directorate.
- Previous experience of providing medicines information in a clinical context.
- Previous experience and knowledge of audit
- Awareness of requirements towards CQC and NHSLA standards for medicines management
