Locum Consultant in Paediatric Radiology

NHS Medical & Dental: Consultant

Flexible working arrangements may be considered and discussions with the recruiting manager regarding this are encouraged.

Job overview

An exciting opportunity to work as a Locum Consultant Paediatric Radiology post is available in the Department of Radiology. The appointee will work within the Radiology Department of Birmingham Children’s Hospital joining an existing establishment of 15 Substantive Consultant Paediatric Radiologists. This is a full-time fixed term 12 month 9 - PA post.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant should be trained in all aspects of Diagnostic Paediatric Radiology and will take part in the general Paediatric Radiology on-call rota. The existing consultants have all developed sub-specialty interests, so if the successful applicant has an interest within Paediatric Radiology, then the department would try to support this. The successful applicant would be expected to take a share in the multi-disciplinary meetings with existing Consultant Radiologists. The nature of Paediatric Radiology is such that the successful candidate will need broad experience and will use many modalities in undertaking their roles. Their job plans will reflect this but will also try to accommodate specialist interests, mindful of the existing needs within the department. The successful applicant must be prepared to work flexibly.
