Therapy Assistant

Band 2

Trosolwg o'r swydd

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, experienced and enthusiastic individual to join and experience working within a team of Therapy Assistants in the Therapy Services Department. The Therapy Assistant will support a wide range of therapists in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy. The role involves face to face contact with patients, monitoring patient progression, working unsupervised, housekeeping tasks, maintenance of equipment, clerical and support tasks. The post holder will also supervise more junior assistants and volunteers. The successful applicant will rotate primarily in Physiotherapy across Orthopaedics, Acute Respiratory & Neuro Rehabilitation on a 6 month cycle to build and grow knowledge, skills and experience as we are passionate about growing staff to full potential to become our future Senior Assistants, Assistant Practitioners and Therapists.

Clinical experience of working with children and adolescents is not essential but a passion for working with this age group is a definite!

The departments provide a service to both in and out-patients and there may be some off-site working. There is a regular in-service training programme. This post is 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, however the candidate may be required to work flexibly to accommodate the needs of the developing service which may include weekend working. The service aims to be a family flexible department and therefore hours are negotiable to fit with childcare and other care needs as services allow.

Please refer to the job description and person specification for more information.

If you would like to discuss this post or if you have any queries, please contact Richard OConnell, Therapy Support Team Leader on 0121 333 9480.
