Job overview
The Cardiology Service is looking to recruit a full-time consultant with specialist interest in heart failure and complex device implantation to join an expanding service at Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust.
The job will be based at Russells Hall Hospital and most of the direct clinical activity will take place there. In addition, contribution to the MDT process will be expected, involving collaboration with interventional colleagues and Cardiac Surgeons at the Wolverhampton Heart and Lung Centre.
Applicants must be fully registered with GMC and be on the GMC Specialist Register or be within six months of obtaining specialist registration in Cardiology at the date of interview. The new consultant contract will be offered based on up to 10 programmed activities per week, but a job-planning review will occur within the first three months and this will be adjusted accordingly. The speciality cardiology on-call commitment will be 1 in 8. You are not expected to do any acute internal medicine on–call.
Main duties of the job
The job will be based at Russells Hall Hospital and most of the direct clinical activity will take place there. In addition, contribution to the MDT process will be expected, involving collaboration with interventional colleagues and Cardiac Surgeons at the Wolverhampton Heart and Lung Centre. There is an expectation that you will supervise the community heart failure team and help with supervision of the virtual ward, have at least one community session, as well as partaking in the weekly heart failure MDT.
There is a General Cardiology on-call commitment at Russells Hall Hospital (see below).
There is no on-call commitment for Acute medicine.

- Full GMC registration
- Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCST in Cardiology
- Degree from a recognised University
