Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, dedicated and innovative registered nurse to join the team working full time (37.5 hours per week secondment/fixed term for 12 months). This post is to cover the maternity leave of the existing post holder.
The post holder is responsible for delivering a high standard of specialist nursing care within the specialist service and will ensure high standards of nursing care is provided to all patients/clients.
Main duties of the job
Based at Russell’s Hall Hospital, the postholder will be expected to work at sites across the Dudley Groups of Hospitals and Community sites . Supporting the team in providing professional advice to other members of the multidisciplinary team; assist in developing the skills and knowledge of staff to deliver high quality care and achieve the performance targets for the specialty.
The post holder will act as a role model within the team. Upholding the Trust’s visions and values, you will be considered to be an ambassador of the Dudley Group Trust.

Qualifications & Education
Essential criteria
- First level Nursing and Midwifery Registration
- Educated to 1st degree level or evidence of study at degree level
- Evidence of NMP V300 Qualification
- Evidence of completion of Health Assessment Course
Knowledge and Training
Essential criteria
- Evidence of professional development and regular study since qualification.
- Aware of medico-legal issues within the role
- Understanding of Department of Health developments and pathways
- Knowledge of current clinical developments and professional issues affecting nursing/ midwifery
- Committed to personal & professional development
Desirable criteria
- Substantial experience and interest in relevant specialty
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of close liaison with members of multidisciplinary team
- Aware of clinical standards of national service frameworks
- Skilled practitioner who can act as a role model
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of having developed team working skills and implemented teamwork practices
- Knowledge of governance and risk management within clinical practice
Applicant requirements
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
The postholder will have regular contact with vulnerable people and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
