Job overview
Hello, I'm Prit the Chief Pharmacy Tech in Operations.
I am looking for x2 enthusiastic and ambitious Pharmacy Assistants to work on the Reception desk within our dispensaries and to join our friendly team ready for our exciting move to our brand new Midland Metropolitan Hospital which is due to open in October 2024!
Do you have experience facing customers or patients and are interested in in working in Pharmacy within a brand new hospital?
Or do you just fancy a change in career and have the passion to deliver a high level of customer/patient experience?
If yes, then look no further and apply today for this amazing opportunity!
This role will mainly be patient/customer facing and will involve working on Reception within our dispensaries. You will be involved with members of the public, hospital staff and the wider multidisciplinary team.
Full training will be provided to ensure you are competent within the role.
SWBH have created a fantastic career pathway for Pharmacy Assistants to progress onto bigger and better things within hospital pharmacy.
There will be a requirement to work at all of the SWBH sites and participate on working weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis which will also form part of a 7 day working week.
We welcome part time staff who are able to work shifts between 9am – 2pm and 2pm – 5.30pm. Or staff who can cover 2 or 3 full days out of 5 are also welcome as well as Full Time staff.
Main duties of the job
You will need to have a positive outlook, be resilient, and demonstrate excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will need to be welcoming and approachable as they will be the 'face of pharmacy' meeting patients and staff members on the reception hatches. You must also have an excellent telephone manner and work well in a busy, fast pace pharmacy environment.
It is vital that all members of our pharmacy team demonstrate that they are capable of, and committed to, delivering high quality accurate and timely care.
Working for our organisation
Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust (SWBT) is an integrated care organisation with a budget of approximately £600 million and over 7,000 staff. Diversity and social care is at the core of what we do as the Trust provides Community and Acute Services to over half a million people in an urban centre that demands massive regeneration and has substantial premature mortality.
Our new acute hospital, the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH), opens in 2024 and will provide care to our local population from first class, purpose-built premises. As a result, the base of this role may change to MMUH from 2024 (or beyond). If this is applicable to your role, you will be informed during the recruitment process and continuing your application with this understanding. The development of the new hospital will play an important role in the regeneration of the wider area and in improving the lives of local people and reducing health inequalities.
We have three newly emerging strategic objectives:
- Our People – to cultivate and sustain happy, productive and engaged staff
- Our Patients – to be good or outstanding in everything we do
- Our Population – to work seamlessly with our partners to improve live
