Job overview

An excellent opportunity has arisen for band 7 physiotherapist to join the Community MSK Assessment & Physiotherapy Service (CMAPS).  The service includes MSK rehabilitation, First Contact Physiotherapy, Advanced Physiotherapy & administration team.  We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Band 7 Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist / Clinical Team Leader to join our physiotherapy service.  The post will enable you to assess patients within a health centre settingTo perform unsupervised, comprehensive assessment of patients, using a high level of clinical knowledge and experience. utilising your clinical reasoning to manage a varied caseload with support from peers, APP's and Clinical Lead.  There are excellent CPD opportunities in a friendly and supportive environment that includes a weekly clinical support group, clinical supervision and IST. Successful applicants will have substantial post graduate experience of working in musculoskeletal specialties; will have experience in leading a team, a positive attitude, excellent mentoring skills with inclusive and compassionate leadership. 

 
 

Main duties of the job

Successful applicants will have substantial post graduate experience of working in musculoskeletal specialties; will have excellent leadership skills, a positive attitude and excellent communication skills.

  • Undertake all MSK aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner acting as a specialist for MSK and seeking support when appropriate for non MSK conditions or concerns.
  • To support the Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners and Therapy Leads in taking a lead role within area of specialism, providing advanced therapy assessment and treatment of patients with diverse 
    presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions. To be a source of expertise, to identify, analyse, evaluate and problem solve to enable the development and delivery of individualized intervention and treatment programmes.

Essential criteria
  • Physiotherapy degree
  • Evidence of post graduate courses
Desirable criteria
  • Leadership qualification
  • Injection Therapy qualification
  • MSc qualification in clinical speciality or willingness to work towards this
  • FCP accreditation

Judgement skills

Essential criteria
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to pass on skills and knowledge and act as a role model
  • Ability to negotiate and influence

Skills & experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant clinical experience at senior level managing patients with complex needs within MSK speciality supported by evidenced based practice.
  • Leadership experience
  • Evidence of leading on small scale change and/or contribution to large scale redesign programmes
  • Evidence of active involvement in clinical governance including audit activity
  • Evidence of attendance at and delivery of in-service training / peer support
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Experience of using a number of computer software systems and competent IT skills
  • Sound knowledge of information governance, complaints management and raising concerns
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a Multi-disciplinary team, with the possibility of lone working. Knowledge of risks associated with lone working
Desirable criteria
  • Prior experience in First Contact Practitioner role or working within primary care setting

  • Ability to demonstrate advanced organisational and time management skills
