Walsall Manor Hospital houses the full range of district general hospital services. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and we are continually upgrading. Construction of the new integrated critical care unit was completed in 2018, extension of a Neonatal Unit and an approved plan to build a brand new, state of the art Emergency Department which commenced in 2021

- To assist in all routine procedures within the Cardiology Department (to include ECG, Event recorder and 24hr ECG Holter Monitoring and 24hr Blood Pressure monitoring – Hook-up and analysis).
- To provide accurate technical reports on all procedures listed above.
- To develop and maintain knowledge and clinical skills.
- To undertake audit and research activities
An AfC Band 3 role is available depending on experience
Main duties of the job

- Understand the significance of the ECG traces recorded and initiate further action by senior cardiac physiology, nursing or medical staff as necessary.
- Learn to identify and correct clinical and technical problems, which may lead to poor quality or misleading results.
- Prepare patients and equipment for ambulatory monitoring, including coaching patients in the appropriate use of the equipment and patient diary. prepare patients for experience tolerance tests ( depending on experience)
- Retrieve data from ambulatory equipment, using the appropriate computing/telephonic/recording devices provided and then to check the quality of the data, editing where appropriate and preparing reports for printing. It is the responsibility of the post holder to ensure that reports are presented for review/reporting in a timely fashion and to arrange reappointment of failed recordings.
