Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust provides integrated acute and community Healthcare in the West Midlands serving a population of 260,000 residents. Walsall Manor Hospital houses the full range of district general hospital services. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and we are continually upgrading. Construction of the new integrated critical care unit was completed in 2018, extension of a Neonatal Unit and an approved plan to build a brand new, state of the art Emergency Department which commenced in 2021

The role will have the responsibility for the day to day operational management of Oral/Max Fax, Ophthalmology and Orthodontic Services, supported by the Care Group Manager with strategic service redesigns/projects.

Essential criteria

Ability to plan and manage work to optimise resources available ensuring timelines and budgets are met
Ability to present data and analyses to differing audiences both in high quality written reports and verbally.
Highly competent in the use of Excel, Access and a range of statistical computer packages.

Desirable criteria

Ability to organise and evaluate data demonstrating sound judgement and analytical skills

Qualifications

Essential criteria

Formal education to first degree level or experience in an NHS operational management role at Band 5 for at least 2 years.

Significant evidence of relevant Continuous Professional Development acquired through practice and a combination of

Experience of working as an operational manager for at least 2 years in the NHS

Experience of managing and setting budgets
