Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for a full time Booking Clerk based within the Radiology Department at the Birmingham Children’s Hospital. This post is based at Birmingham Children’s Hospital though there is the potential for cross site working at Birmingham Women’s Hospital.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated person with good organisational and communication skills.  You will need to be able to work under pressure and work as part of a team to deliver the highest standard of patient care.

There has never been a better time to join the Radiology Department; We are a growing team with a focus on improving accessibility to diagnostics and enhancing the patient experience.

Candidates should possess excellent keyboard skills and a desire to work in a fast-paced department that can make a difference to the patient journey. Experience in a Healthcare Setting is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.

The successful applicant will be required to participate in a 08:00 – 18:00 service provision as rostered including weekends and Bank Holidays in line with service needs and will promote and deliver a child-focused and user-friendly Diagnostic Imaging service to children, young people and families. 

This role is a full-time post, working 5 days per week, including weekends. Flexible working will be considered.

Main duties of the job

To ensure accurate appointments are booked in a timely manner across all modalities within Radiology using a variety of trust IT systems.  To ensure that appointments are made within clinically agreed timescales and in line with Trust-wide and local protocols.
