Job overview
The Cardiology Ward within the Heart & Lung Centre is looking for a dynamic, motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 Sister to complement the existing team.
The post holder will work closely with the department manager and multidisciplinary team members in monitoring and maintaining excellent clinical standards of nursing practice and staff development as part of the team. Also, act as a care team leader ensuring the needs of the patients are met and co-ordinate an extremely busy ward environment.
They will have responsibility for the continuing professional development and overall performance of all staff by acting as a mentor with the support of the Senior Sister
The post holder is expected to carry out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision and is required to demonstrate procedures, supervise qualified and /or unqualified staff whilst maintaining a safe working environment.
The successful candidates will be enthusiastic, flexible and hard working in order to provide a high standard of nursing care to cardiology patients. Excellent communications skills are essential.
Experience of working in an acute Cardiology setting and evidence of successful study to degree level in Cardiology conditions and 12 lead ECG interpretation is also essential as we are a tertiary centre accepting direct admissions for PPCI.
Candidates are strongly encouraged to make an informal visit.
