You will be joining a highly experienced MDT with vast skills, whose focus and priorities are led by a passion to improve outcomes for CYP and deliver the highest standards of care.  You must be able to demonstrate MDT working; exhibit strong communication and leadership skills. We welcome applications from senior nurses with experience of leading larger scale change, innovation and staff and service development to deliver outstanding care, every time. You will be joining at the most exciting time as we transform services to deliver care that is patient focused, digitally driven and delivered in the heart of our communities. With this in mind you will work closely with our community paediatric colleagues  in delivering against the NHS 10 year plan. This role demands strategic vision as well as operational acuity. You will lead workforce transformation, develop emerging leaders, and champion MDT collaboration. You will lead our acute portfolio which includes our Paediatric Inpatient ward, PAU, HDU, Surgical Day Case Unit, outpatients, and the Clinical nurse specialist team. Main duties of the job

As part of our commitment to succession planning, the Senior Matron post is a role for experienced senior nursing staff who aspire to be excellent nurse leaders. The expectation in this role is that you will lead on corporate nursing responsibilities; offer support and act up in the absence of the Head of Nursing in preparation for your progression to a Head of Nursing and Chief Nursing Officer role in the future.

 It is recognised that this Senior role requires experienced Matrons who have the knowledge and capacity to offer advice and support for more complex professional issues.

Be a visible nurse leader and role model for a number of clinical areas with the responsibility and accountability for professional standards.

Be professionally accountable and maintain the standards of professional practice as set by the appropriate regulatory body applicable to your profession or role.

Accountable for identifying and ensuring improvements in patient safety, patient experience and effectiveness of service.

In conjunction with the Clinical Director & Group/Directorate Manager, lead the implementation and delivery of the clinical service improvement plan.

Provide expert advice to the Group /Directorate on all nursing matters.

Ensuring effective contribution to the delivery of the organisation’s objectives

Manage a devolved budget for a number of clinical areas ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
