Job overview

The post holder will assist orthotists in providing a service to clients requiring orthotic treatment.

Any direct work undertaken by the Orthotics Support Practitioner will be part of a total treatment plan devised by the Orthotist.

The Orthotics Support Practitioner will undertake the specified activities listed in the job description and will take some responsibility for his or her own workload, within a broad framework laid down by the Orthotists.

The post holder will uphold the fundamental standards of safety and quality, always putting the clients first and protecting them from harm.

The post Holder will demonstrate the values of the NHS and commitment to personal and professional development.

The Orthotist is responsible for the Orthotics Support Practitioner Practitioner’s work and the welfare of clients.

Main duties of the job

To work with supervision and support from the Senior Orthotists team and the Consultant Orthotist/Orthotics Service Manager, providing a supportive role to the orthotist team.

Essential criteria
  • • English GCSE (Grades 4-9) or equivalent
  • • Understand of the role of orthotics with a range of appropriate clients
Desirable criteria
  • • Three A-Levels or NVQ3 or equivalent level 3 qualification(s)
  • • Ability to work flexibility across areas according to service need
