Job overview

Are you ready for a new challenge and would like to be part of our children's & young people day case team? 

This role will allow you to work within a dynamic, forward thinking and established nursing team. We see a wide range of children and young people with a variety of different medical and surgical conditions which will provide fantastic learning opportunities.

To be considered for the role you will be a registered Children’s Nurse with an RSCN or RN Child qualification and have completed ENB 998/Mentorship/ SLAiP course. You must also have evidence of professional updating within the last 12 months and have an appropriate post registration course. It would be advantageous to have management experience and evidence of effective leadership skills. As a team leader you will be responsible for managing your own team of staff ensuring that their mandatory training and annual personal development reviews are completed, as well as leading the team clinically. The posts will also include some managerial responsibilities. As part of the role, you will be required to undertake a  chemotherapy course, to participate in the administration of chemotherapy to oncology patients.

 

 

Main duties of the job

To be professionally accountable and maintain the standards of professional practice as set by the appropriate regulatory body applicable to your profession or role.

To deliver compassionate person-centred care, and treat patients, service users, their families and their carers with consideration, dignity and the respect you would want for yourself or your family.

To support and deputise for the Senior Sister / Charge Nurse in ensuring the standards of professional practice as set out by appropriate regulatory body applicable to your profession or role are maintained.

Utilise clinical proficiency in delivering a high standard of nursing care.
Provide managerial and leadership skills to support the Senior Sister / Charge Nurse and nursing team to deliver continually improved standards and efficient and effective use of resources.

To be accountable for : Delivering safe and effective clinical practice Enhancing the patient’s experience with regular and constructive communication Managing and developing the performance of a team of nursing staff Ensuring effective contribution to the delivery of the organisation’s objectives Efficient and effective use of resources Deputising for Senior Sister/Charge Nurse.
