Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our busy phlebotomy team at  New Cross Hospital.

1x 20 hour positions - 5 weekday shifts (varying hours) working at South Staffs GP surgeries and across OPD clinics.    

Phlebotomy skills, a current UK driving license and the use of a car are essential for this role. You must be committed to delivering a high standard of service in line with our Trust values.

Phlebotomy duties include taking blood samples from patients, labelling tubes, and the  storing of samples for Pathology.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible to work as part of a team in the Phlebotomy Department and will be required to carry out phlebotomy duties in South Staffs GP surgeries as well as  patient homes and residential/nursing homes.  These surgeries are in communities bordering Wolverhampton area. The phlebotomist will also be expected to work in phlebotomy clinics on the hospital site when the GP service is not needed.  They will be expected to  respond positively to the changing demands of the service.
