Community Phlebotomist

Job overview
We are looking for phlebotomist, hours to be worked flexibly across a 7 day service ( Mon - Sun between 07:00 - 16:30)
It is essential that you have a full UK driving license and have access to a car that can be used for work purposes as the post involves travelling across the city to provide services in designated clinics or domiciliary visits.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is expected to work as part of the anticoagulation and phlebotomy service. After training they will be required to perform blood drawing procedures (venipuncture) for adults and children over 5 years of age, along with near patient testing (capillary sampling) duties.
The phlebotomist will operate using appropriate equipment and instruments, without direct supervision, adhering to Trust clinical practices and guidelines.
Will be regularly designated to undertake Phlebotomy Clinics, to include near patient testing where necessary, in GP surgeries and Health Centres as well as patient homes and residential/nursing homes across the city of Wolverhampton.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
As a community phlebotomist you will be required to assist in the provision of an efficient Phlebotomy and Anticoagulation service, both within our community clinics and within patient’s homes. (Domiciliary)
Previous experience is essential. You will also need to have good communication skills, organisational skills, be flexible and able to manage your own workload.
