Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust provides integrated acute and community Healthcare in the West Midlands serving a population of 260,000 residents. Walsall Manor Hospital houses the full range of district general hospital services. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and we are continually upgrading. Construction of the new integrated critical care unit was completed in 2018, extension of a Neonatal Unit and an approved plan to build a brand new, state of the art Emergency Department which will commence in 2021

The Estates and Facilities Team are looking to appoint a dynamic and influential individual to provide a professional and technical service to the Trust, concerning all matters relating to Sustainability & Carbon Management; Waste and Recyling.
The role will provide an opportunity to be involved in a wide range of duties to increase engagement in environmental programmes and support improved waste management through reduction, reuse and recycling projects.
You will be the champion for the trust in the delivery of a ‘net zero’ National Health Service and decarbonisation and the gatekeeper of our green plan. You will also lead our ‘bright ideas’ programme and play a key part in the Trusts Sustainability Group.
The successful candidate will ensure that the Trust complies with all relevant Legislation, Statutory Regulations and NHSie and Department of Health (DoH) recommendations relating to this role.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
