A Physiotherapist in Amputee Rehabilitation is required by one of the UK’s largest NHS Hospital Trusts. Based at the Bristol Centre for Enablement with a basic salary of up to £42618 (pro rata) + excellent NHS benefits, you will be responsible for assessing and treating both adult and paediatric patients with limb loss and enable patient centred rehabilitation with and without a prosthesis.
Main duties of the job
- Work as an autonomous physiotherapy practitioner providing a high standard of therapy service to patients within the MDT prosthetics team
- Work closely with the specialist multi-disciplinary team in the prosthetics service to provide appropriate physiotherapy input
- Link with other Physiotherapists and health professionals within North Bristol Trust and other trusts supporting patients in this regional specialty unit
- Provide teaching and training to Health Care Professionals, students, patients and carers

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
As the Physiotherapist, your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing newly referred amputees attending the centre for prosthetic provision, predominantly lower limb
- Training the patient in the use of a prosthesis including Microprocessor Knees
- Liaising with physiotherapy colleagues in the many rehabilitation settings that patients continue their rehab following delivery of their prosthesis and initial rehabilitation at the BCE
- Providing reviews for longer term patients
- Maintaining a highly specialist caseload of patients from a wide geographical area

Experience/Knowledge/Skills
Essential criteria
- HCPC Registered Physiotherapist
- A wide range of undergraduate and graduate physiotherapy experience – including vascular, orthopaedics and respiratory
- To perform physiotherapeutic examination and assessment of patients with vascular, orthopaedic and neurological presentations
- To develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme for a wide range of complex patients
- Ability to work within a team
