An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated and forward-thinking Physiotherapist with relevant experience to lead the Burns and Plastics  team within our dynamic Physiotherapy service at North Bristol NHS Trust.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

The post holder will be part of a lead  the  delivery a high quality Physiotherapy Service across the Burns and Plastics wards as well as in reaching in to intensive care and providing cover to relevant outpatient clinics.

The post holder will provide highly specialist assessment and interventions for a busy and varied caseload demonstrating advanced clinical reasoning skills and with specific knowledge of burns and plastics. 

They will take a lead in multi-disciplinary activities and have highly developed specialist knowledge and communicate complex condition related information to patients, relative and carers.  The role will include supporting complex acute patients and assisting in facilitating timely discharges to be achieved by the service.

The post holder will work closely with the Clinical Leadership Team to support and further develop the Physiotherapy Service.

  • To undertake the role of a team leader to plan, co-ordinate, deliver and evaluate the physiotherapy service to the burns and plastics wards.
  • To work as an autonomous, highly skilled clinician, to provide a specialised service of physiotherapy including assessment, treatment, advice and education for patients, carers/families and staff on the appropriate wards
  • To be the physiotherapy lead within the multidisciplinary team providing specialist advice to other professionals and working closely with the Consultants and MDT to formulate appropriate management plans for patients.
  • To provide appropriate training and education to other Health care professionals, junior physiotherapists and students within the team. To be an expert resource within the physiotherapy service for burns and plastics.
  • To work with and deputise for the Pathway Lead Physiotherapist and Head of Physiotherapy as appropriate.
  • To be able to identify and lead relevant service development in team, service, and division as appropriate.

  • Masters level learning or equivalent experience
  • MCSP

Work Experience

  • Significant Band 6 physiotherapy experience in burns and plastics
  • Experience of complex discharge planning and working with Community Partners
  • MDT working
  • Ability and experience of recognising and treating the deteriorating ward patient
  • Service development including QI audit, research
  • Supervision of staff and students
  • Teaching experience - IST, UG etc
  • Time Management
