Do you hold a current GDC licence to practice? Do you have previous experience in paediatric dentistry? Are you looking to work in a multidisciplinary, regional service?

The South West Cleft Service is recruiting a part-time specialist paediatric dentist (1PA) to provide specialist care for patients with cleft lip and/or palate. The postholder will join a network of clinicians who provide multi-disciplinary care across the South West.

Responsibilities will include:

- New patient referral clinics

- Treatment clinics

- Clinical audit clinics (including successful calibration for data collection with the paediatric dental clinical excellence network)

- Multidisciplinary planning and review clinics with support from lead paediatric dentist as required.

Key qualities and experience required:

- Previous working experience within Paediatric Dentistry is essential.

- Applicants will need to be registered with the GDC including on the specialist list for Paediatric Dentistry.

- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, relatives, clinical colleagues, support staff and other colleagues.

- Understanding of the dental implications associated with cleft lip/palate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Dental Surgery (or equivalent) with a minimum of four years post qualification experience
  • Full registration with the United Kingdom General Dental Council (GDC)
  • Completed VT Training
  • Membership of appropriate Medical or Dental Defence Society
  • Successful completion of a Specialty Advisory Committee (SAC) approved training program in Paediatric Dentistry (or equivalent), or within 6 months of completion.
  • Membership of relevant professional organisations relevant to Paediatric Dentistry
