Specialist Project Matron – Band 8a fixed term 1 year - Division of Medicine (37.5)

This excellent opportunity has arisen for a senior nurse who wishes to further progress their nursing career and play a key role in improving the quality of care we deliver to our patients and developing services in the Division of Medicine. 

The role is a one year fixed term Specialist Project Matron post.  This post is supported by Above and Beyond and has been put in place as part of the Medicine Divisional Recovery program to help support the Division post Covid reconfigurations and in particular to support staff following the changes that have happened and the effects of these on the staff.  Areas that the successful post holder will be working within are our Care of the Elderly areas as well as our ‘front door’ Assessment areas which are undergoing a period of significant change and re-building in the near future.

A further area of focus for this role will be a review of how ECO patients are managed within Medicine and look for any opportunities to help optimise our practice in this area that may also be used by other Divisions.

This role will support the current Medical Matron team and is fundamental to ensuring patients receive safe, high quality care and a positive patient experience which is responsive to the needs of patients, families and their carer’s. As a result we are seeking a senior nurse who has strong leadership skills and is passionate about delivering innovative practice.  The post holder will need knowledge, skill and attention to detail to continue to deliver real improvements in quality.  Above all, we are looking for an individual who has a passion for making a difference and is committed to delivering excellent patient care in a safe environment.
