Job overview
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated person with excellent organisational skills to join our team working at the Bristol Children’s Hospital. You will work to provide an efficient administration and clerical service ensuring patients receive the most appropriate date taking in to account the needs of the patient, organisation and NHS targets.
This is a challenging role working within an extremely busy booking office; it is therefore essential that you are enthusiastic, motivated and able to work under pressure in a rapidly changing environment. NHS administrative experience is essential as is the ability to manage waiting lists to both standards and access targets.
Main duties of the job
- Monitor, manage and validate active and backlog waiting list data
- Production of inpatient notes ready for admissions
- Management of preoperative questionnaires
- Record, maintain and update admission information on the Trust’s Patient Administration System (PAS)
- Booking of preoperative assessments onto Trust PAS
- Validation of waiting list and contacting patients
- To register patients onto waiting lists and generate all associated paper work in adherence with the PAP and Trust Inpatient Booking Procedures.
- Other duties related to the admission department

Qualifications and Training

- Educated to GCSE, grade C or above (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths
- Business and Administration Level 3 NVQ or equivalent experience
