Buckinghamshire NHS Trust Neonatal Services are seeking an experienced and dynamic neonatal nursing leader to join our senior leadership team as an  Operational Matron .

Buckinghamshire NHS Trust  Neonatal Services are a level 2 service consisting of  Neonatal Intensive Care, Special Care, Transitional Care and  Home Outreach support 

Main duties of the job

The Operational Matron will provide visible, professional leadership across the service, leading teams to deliver high-quality, safe and effective family-centred care, promoting patient flow, and supporting the workforce to foster a positive, inclusive and compassionate culture.

Education Qualifications and Training

Essential criteria
  • RN
  • Degree in related field
  • Relevant post registration experience
  • Significant Experience in clinical area
  • Teaching and Assessment qualification
Desirable criteria
  • completion of appropriate management and leadership programme
  • study at Masters level / working towards / willing to complete

Experience

Essential criteria
  • senior nursing experience within related field
  • proven track record in change management , team leadership and performance management
Desirable criteria
  • previous experience teaching / presenting to large audiences

Skills Abilities and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • ability to demonstrate understanding and management of HR and workforce challenges
  • participation in audit and development
Desirable criteria
  • participation in quality improvement initiatives
  • experience producing reports, presentations and documents
