Job overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic and friendly Radiology team at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. This role contributes to the smooth running of our A&E x-ray and CT evening services. The successful candidate will work closely with the Radiographers and liaise directly with service users and staff from other Departments. As a Radiographic assistant you will need to have great communications skills, a caring nature and an ability to remain calm under pressure. You will also be required to have good IT skills to be able to perform clerical duties using multiple Trust computer systems.
Main duties of the job
Greeting patients on arrival, confirming identification details and appropriate imaging requests.
Coordinating patient transfer to and from Radiology.
Liaising with other Departments, wards and staff.
Using the radiology information system to accurately document details of patients examinations.
Keeping the work areas stocked and tidy.
To answer the telephone and deal with enquiries promptly and courteously and either take appropriate action or refer to appropriate Radiology staff.
Assisting with patient transfers onto the imaging tables.
Assisting with patients hygiene / comfort needs as necessary.
Maintaining dignity and privacy of patients at all times.

- NVQ level 2 in Healthcare or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting
