Following our recent organisational restructure, we bring an exciting opportunity for a compassionate, inclusive experienced nurse leader to join our senior leadership team in a new role as the Care Group Director of Nursing for Integrated medicine!

Why Now?

Rated by the CQC as outstanding for well- led, you will work as an integral part of the triumvirate to lead cross site and integrated services at our acute hospitals based on the Stoke Mandeville and Wycombe General hospital site alongside BNRU at Amersham Hospital, the role will cover 3 Trust sites. These services include the Emergency Department, Endoscopy Units, Cardiac retrieval, and stroke units at as well as ambulatory services, Inpatient Wards, and Clinical Nurse Specialists.

Main duties of the job

What is involved?

  • Leading operational delivery and quality improvement.
  • Embedding a learning culture through the implementation of the Patient safety incident response framework.
  • Holding key responsibilities to manage risk, ensure patient safety quality, operational flow, and appropriate use of resources.
  • You will also be part of the silver Senior Manager on-call rota.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The purpose of this role is to provide senior strategic nursing leadership in order to ensure and consistently develop a high-quality, cost-effective nursing service for patients. The post holder will support the Chief Nurse in leading the development of the nursing agenda within the Trust.

Education, Qualifications and Training

Essential criteria
  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council
  • Master's Degree in Nursing or health related field or evidence of working at this level
  • Demonstrates evidence of continuous professional development
  • Management/Leadership qualification or proven track record in management/professional leadership role
  • Safeguarding Training Level 2
  • Recognised teaching/Assessing qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrable consolidated experience in nursing and senior nurse roles
  • Experience of leading and managing a range of departments
  • Experience of working and influencing at a senior level and leading a team or service
  • Experience of communicating to a wide range of people at operational levels of an organisation, to include sensitive issues; contentious material; complex matters
  • Experience of developing collaborative working within teams
  • Demonstrable experience of implementing and managing change effectively
  • Understanding of NMC/HPC Code of Practice and requirements of it for the practice and behaviour and its application
  • Demonstrable experience of effective budgetary management
  • Thorough understanding of Management of COSHH and Health and Safety
