Job overview

A vacancy has arisen for a friendly, enthusiastic, and efficient health care assistant to join the Cardiac Day Unit/Cardiac Cath lab. You will be joining a team of nurses and health care assistants, to provide nursing support to this busy unit and cath labs. This post would suit someone with excellent communication skills.

Main duties of the job

The unit has expanded and this is an exciting time to join in the development of the existing 6 bedded and 5 chair radial lounge Cardiac Day Unit and 2 Cardiac Catheterisation laboratories, where a wide range of procedures are performed including primary angioplasty and pacemaker insertions. 

The role will include working in both the Cardiac Day Unit and the Cardiac Cath Labs supporting the nursing staff and the consultant cardiologists.

Education

Desirable criteria
  • Level 2 or Level 3 (NVQ) in health and Social Care or equivalent relevant experience
  • Care Certificate/working towards

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working with people, ideally in a front-line customer service role
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of providing person centred care

Skills

Essential criteria
  • An understanding of the importance of patient confidentially and privacy.
  • Ability to write clearly and legibly in English
  • Recognises how patients and colleagues need to be treated with dignity and respect and can demonstrate these behaviours in their daily work.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety with an awareness of the importance of following Trust policies and procedures
