Job overview
Are you ready to transform healthcare through innovation, data, and cutting-edge research?
At Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, we’re building a future where research, innovation, and population health are deeply embedded in everything we do. We’re on the lookout for an ambitious, strategic, and dynamic Project Manager to lead our Agile PMO and accelerate bold, system-changing initiatives that impact thousands of lives.
This isn’t just another NHS role. It’s your opportunity to be at the epicentre of innovation — where data, digital, and health expertise converge to reimagine patient care, prevent illness, and reduce health inequalities across the county and beyond.
You’ll Thrive If You:
✅ Love leading agile, cross-functional teams to deliver real-world impact
✅ Have a strong grip on research governance, funding strategy, or health innovation
✅ Are excited by scaling innovations that improve lives and reduce costs
✅ Want to be a change-maker who drives sustainable, scalable health solutions
You will be curious, collaborative, and commercially minded. You love problem-solving and are never afraid to challenge the status quo. You’re a confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels – from patients and clinicians to board executives and external funders.
Whether you're from a clinical background (nursing, medicine, AHP, pharmacy) or a non-clinical powerhouse (data, digital, finance, health economics), we want to hear from you.
Main duties of the job
You will be the engine behind our agile transformation, leading high performing "Growth Squads" across research, digital innovation, and population health. You’ll coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to unlock funding, drive strategic projects, and translate national policy into ground-breaking local impact.
You’ll combine financial savvy, project delivery excellence, and bold strategic thinking to:
- Launch and scale impactful research and innovation projects
- Drive preventative healthcare models and reducing inequalities
- Lead on intellectual property, regulatory governance, and strategic grant pipelines
- Foster partnerships with NHS leaders, commercial innovators, academia, and patients
- Leading the Agile PMO, embedding a "growth mindset" across our R&I landscape
- Managing financial performance and unlocking external funding
- Spearheading performance reporting, impact analysis, and KPI frameworks
- Representing BHT at regional and national forums
- Supporting innovative clinics and decision-making in population health
- Shaping the future of digital health, AI in care pathways, and preventative medicine
